Here's where everything went completely wrong. After my dishwasher ran it's full cycle I noticed there was a small puddle of water on the floor in front of it. The dishwasher leaked. So, after unloading the dishes, I massaged the and re seated the seals to make sure they were all soft and they formed a seal. I mean, that's what they should do, right?
Here's where Quantum Mechanics and the paradox of Schrodinger's Cat comes in. Brush up if you need to:
So the problem I have is, did I really fix the dishwasher, or is it still broken? Until I run the dishwasher again, I can't know. So, my dishwasher leaks, but also doesn't leak. It's fixed, or it isn't. I want to believe that I fixed the dishwasher, and as long as I never use it, the dishwasher is fixed. If I run the dishwasher and it leaks, then I failed. Rather than accept my failure at fixing an appliance, I choose to wash the dishes in the sink. And that's why I have the ol' "dishpan hands". Quantum Mechanics.
