they got a million toys at Toys R us that I can play with
I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid
they got the best for so much less, it'll really flip your lid
From bikes to trains to video games
it's the biggest toy store there is (gee whiz!)
I don't wanna grow up, cause maybe if I did
I couldn't be a Toys R Us kid
more games, more toys, oh boy!
I wanna be a Toys R Us kid
I just transcribed that from the jingle, so forgive me if I messed up a word or two.
Looks like we just grew up. :(
That's it, it's over. Toys R Us is done. The store you would absolutely BEG your parents to take you to is the latest victim of internet shopping. It wasn't until adulthood when I realized that my parents were watching to see what I was drawn to, and how that one day at TRU directed affected what Santa brought me at Christmas.
But now that's over. And we've grown up.
