What turned out to be a routine 7-Eleven run for John Legend might turn into a lasting impression for some  New Jersey firefighters. Sunday morning, Legend and his crew pulled into a 7-Eleven not far from Teterboro Airport.

Two volunteers were selling tickets to the Wood-Bridge Firefighters Fundraising Breakfast in front of the convenience store.

Volunteer firefighter Gilbert Ruiz and another volunteer Angel Martinez recognized Legend. They told him about the fundraiser. Legend popped in and out of the store and gave them a $20 donation. They said that was the biggest donation they had gotten all day.

Ruiz took a picture with Legend and then John hopped in the car to make his flight.  That’s cool.
