There’s More Evidence Facebook Makes You Feel Lonely
Scrolling through your Facebook feed has the potential to make you feel lonely or depressed.
Last year, Facebook itself admitted this and made changes for people to use the social media service more actively. A new study has doubled down on the fact that using Facebook and other social media could increase the loneliness. People who spent less time on social media were better off especially in the areas of loneliness and depression. The study did not come up with why this happens. There are more tests to be done. The researchers didn’t tell people to stop using social media but limiting usage could be good for everyone.
Do you have FOMO when you aren’t on social media? Do you feel lonely after scrolling through and seeing what everyone is doing?
