The Christmas classic, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” has caused a lot of controversy with people calling the song, “a date rape” song.

Now that the song has been taken off two radio station’s playlist the daughter of Frank Loesser, who wrote the song is upset and is blaming Bill Cosby. “Bill Cosby ruined it for everybody,” Susan Loesser told NBC News on Thursday.  Loesser says she’s heard people refer to the song as reflecting date rape but Loesser says that the song was written for her father and mother to perform at their parties. Although Loesser says she understands that in 2018 why people would be offended, but in 1944 the words had a different meaning. For the line, “Say, what’s in this drink” Loesser said the phrase was used often as a joke. Karen North, whose great uncle produced for Loesser’s shows says, “It’s all about how women in that era were not allowed to be unchaperoned with a man. The song is about two people who are mutually attracted and want to find an excuse to stay together.”

Do you think the song should be pulled from radio or are people being too sensitive?
