Amidst the sexual assault allegations against R. Kelly, Lady Gaga has apologized for her collaboration with R. Kelly and has promised to remove her 2013 duet with the singer called Do What You Want (With My Body) from iTunes and all other streaming platforms.
“I stand behind these women 1000%, believe them, know they are suffering and in pain,” Gaga said in a post for Instagram and Twitter. “What I am hearing about allegations against R. Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible.” Gaga, who was a victim of sexual assault at age 19, said she made the song at a “dark time” in her life and says she will never work with R. Kelly again.
What do you think of Gaga’s decision? Do you think that more singers who worked with R. Kelly will follow Gaga’s actions?
