A new digital pill is being used in the fight against cancer.

The chemotherapy pills come equipped with a sensor that activates once the pill gets wet in the stomach. The pill then sends an alert to a medical professional. The pill can also track the time, dosage and medication type. According to the company’s creator, Proteus Digital Health, the technology is helping doctor’s to better track patients adherence to their treatment guidelines. A group of patients with Stage 3 and 4 cancer in Minnesota has been using the drugs with success.
