James Holzhauer may be gifted at playing Jeopardy! but his poker skills leave much to be desired.
The professional gambler turned game show champ ran out of cash at his World Series of Poker debut on Monday, finishing in 454th place out of more than 1,800 entrants. Holzhauer, who tried his hand at online poker semi-professionally in the early 2000s, had planned to give half of any earnings from the tournament to charity. With his Jeopardy! money, Holzhauer recently donated to several non-profits plus a gave a gift in Alex Trebek’s name to a pancreatic cancer walk in his hometown.
If you came into a large amount of money, what would you do with it?
Naperville's James Holzhauer didn’t have as much success at two World Series of Poker events this week as he did competing on “Jeopardy!” https://t.co/rlijjMe0SD— Chicago Tribune (@chicagotribune) June 25, 2019
