Perhaps you heard that The Weeknd now has a mustache. While Twitter has feelings on who he looks like now—“Lionel Richie,” “a Key and Peele character” being two suggestions—Bruno Mars think The Weeknd looks like him. And you better bet that he’s got the receipts to prove it.
Mars took to Instagram after a photo of the mustachioed The Weeknd on the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival hit the internet. He wanted to point out their uncanny resemblance and no surprise, he did so hilariously. “This was the moment I saw The Weeknd’s New Mustache,” Mars captioned a shot of him, also with a mustache, looking a bit annoyed. Like he might be saying to himself, “Hey, you stole my look.”
Later, Mars retweeted a fan who also pointed out their similar taste in facial hair. “ITS ON NOW!!!!” Mars joked about the perfectly chosen photos that make it look like he’s giving The Weeknd major side-eye.
As of now, The Weeknd has not responded to all the press surrounding his new look. Let’s just hope Mars and The Weeknd’s ‘staches bring them together instead of tearing them apart. We all want to hear a collaboration, not to mention see that mustache-filled cover art.
