I was very confused about this because.. ya know... conditioning, but black capitalism isn't progress or collective freedom. It's just capitalism. The goal isn't for a few blacks to make it into upper class society. The goal is economic stability and liberation for all!!!!

@IamKingWilliams Also, I lived in the neighborhood bordering the base(Venetian Hills) for over 2 years. Perry's purchase of the 330 acres did nothing to revitalize the neighborhood. The same blighted homes/lack of dev that existed before his purchase are there now.

@CiCiAdams_ Yes his movies suck but he has provided so many black actors with opportunity. Imagine what he could do with his own studio. You guys are never satisfied. My God.

@CiCiAdams_ Wow I'm so confused at this because I never once got that from his films. Black women play characters. Just like non black. I don't see myself in all characters played by black women. They are stories. Diary of a Mad Black Woman is one of my fave movies.

@oh_HOLMES - he isn't responsible for blight and that's a combo of banks/everyday people trying to hustle in real estate - none of these big ticket projects revitalize neighborhoods b/c they don't own/have no incentive - if we're doing TP that way, we have to do the other sound stages too
