Emergency rooms are filling up because cases of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) are on the rise here in Florida. Symptoms include wheezing, sneezing and can get more serious - taking a toll on young children.
The virus leads to infection in the lungs and respiratory tract. RSV gives you cold-like symptoms in adults but premature infants and babies can become severely ill from it.
There’s been a major outback at hospitals all over the state so be careful. Severe causes could lead to bronchiolitis or pneumonia.
