Michigan Man Returns Over $43,000 Found in Couch He Purchased Morals still reign in Michigan. Howard Kirby from Michigan found over $43,000 in a couch he bought from a thrift store in December.
After a few weeks, he noticed the couch was uncomfortable and his daughter opened it up to find out why. She found a total of $43,170 in the cushion. The man contacted the store to find the donor.
The donor was a lady whose grandfather owned the couch and died last year. Even though the man could have kept the money legally, he said he couldn’t morally.
