Communities Encourage Friendly “Bear Hunt” To Cope With Quarantine
Families all over the country are going on “bear hunts” with their children to help pass the time during COVID-19 quarantines. But don’t worry it’s not what you think.
This bear hunt is a creative way to stay hopeful. Inspired by the book “We’re Going on A Bear Hunt” by Michel Rosen and Helen Oxenbury, neighbors are placing bears, bunnies and other stuffed animals on their window sills to give area families something to do.
The goal is to keep kids entertained but also while practicing social distancing. It’s also a way to stay active both physically and mentally.
Have you seen any bear sightings in Southwest Florida? Let us know on our Facebook page so we can start a thread that will serve as a guide to other families:
Children across the world are putting bears in their windows to create their very own 'Bear Hunt' - the perfect activity for little ones during times of social distancing (https://t.co/4EWVwOjd5s). To the parent (it’s gotta be a parent) who came up w/ this idea, THANK YOU. Explaining to a 4yr-old why playdates aren’t allowed anymore is heartbreaking, so “Going on a Bear Hunt” during our walks is the distraction we needed. Our street right now:#COVID19 pic.twitter.com/aOhSlmJsVJ
