Speaking today in Orlando, Governor DeSantis once again downplayed the spike in Coronavirus cases in Florida. He said that many of the newly infected are younger individuals who are less at risk of becoming severely ill.
When asked about making masks mandatory for the state of Florida, he replied “I think you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.”
“You’re seeing outbreaks in metro areas, you’re not necessarily seeing them the same way in other parts of the state,” he said.
Masks are mandatory in public settings in Miami and Tampa but is not a requirement in Southwest Florida.
