Lee County deputies helped Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission biologists rescue a 900-pound manatee from the Imperial River, according to NBC2. The 9.5-foot male manatee was injured after hitting a boat propeller, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Concerned citizens who originally found the animal stayed with it before LCSO’s Marine Unit got to the scene.
