Western South Dakota was rumbling today, and judging by the crowd you'd never know we were in the midst of a pandemic. As you can see by the pictures, this years event really looks no different than previous years aside from a few people wearing masks.
As many as a half million people are expected to descend on the small town in a state with no special limits on indoor crowds and no mask mandates. Daily reported cases of the virus in South Dakota have been coming up slightly, but the seven-day average is still only around 84 and fewer than two deaths per day. Far less than here in Florida.
