Balenciaga has chosen Cardi B to be the new face of the brand. The “WAP” rapper is the star of the luxury fashion brand’s new winter 2020 campaign.
The Bronx rapper recently took to Instagram to share the news. Cardi posted a photo of her Balenciaga billboard, which is located on the side of the highly-lauded Louvre museum in Paris.
“Ya lookin at the face of a @Balenciaga campaign!” Cardi B wrote on the social media platform. “I remember how I felt seeing myself on a billboard in NYC Times Square but PARIS! Wish I was there to see it in person!”
The Balenciaga campaign is the rapper’s first campaign for a luxury fashion house. However, the “Money” rapper isn’t a stranger to the high fashion world. She’s appeared front row at various fashion shows for brands like Tom Ford, Chanel, and Thom Browne.
Cardi B has also shouted out Balenciaga on her hit single “I Like It.” “I like those Balenciagas, the ones that look like socks,” Cardi rapped referencing the brand’s Speed Trainer sneaker.
Cardi B has partnered with Fashion Nova and launched her own collections with the brand, which raked in millions after selling out in minutes.
