There are tons of manatee's in SW Florida and one was in danger. Thank goodness it was rescued and is safe.
According to NBC 2, there was an 800 pound manatee that was wedged in the mangroves and was hurt, hungry and dehydrated. It had been stuck there for several days but was rescued by Lee County deputies and Florida Fish and and Wildlife biologists. It's on it's way to recovery and is now at the Tampa Zoo.
We're happy that the manatee is now safe! Thank you to the Lee County deputies and Florida Fish and Wildlife biologists.
