One of the best things about living in SWFL is the hatching of sea turtles. And it's about that time again that the sea turtles are going to be laying their eggs on the beach so we must protect them.

According to NBC 2, they have some great advice on how to keep the beaches safe and clean during sea turtle nesting season. They are recommending that you do not use flash lights or cell phones on the beach at night. They say that the bright lights can misdirect and also disturb the nesting sea turtles and hatchlings. As long as we keep the beaches dark and clean and clear a path at night so they can find their way to the water we can protect them.

We love this! So remember after a fun day at the beach, always throw away your trash and fill any holes in the sand. If we all continue to do our part these beautiful creatures will be around for a long time.
