How do you pick the wrong one?! A doctor in Tampa performed surgery on the wrong testicle and tried to make it right during the same surgery.
The urologist marked the patient’s right testicle for removal of enlarged veins with the patients consent. During the procedure the doctor realized he marked the wrong testicle… He was supposed to do the left testicle instead.
“During the procedure, [Fernandez-Crespo] realized that Patient C.F. had consented to a left testicle varicocelectomy,” the complaint said. “[Fernandez-Crespo] then performed a left testicle varicocelectomy.”
Fernandez-Crespo has been a Florida-licensed medical doctor since April 1, 2019 and the patient showed up on Sept. 10, 2019 for surgery.
After an investigation, the doctor was fined $2,500 by the State of Florida Board of Medicine, according to The Miami herald
This one hurts, how you gonna mess this one up doctor especially knowing how sensitive the sense of the matter actually is.
