Parts Of Collier County Now Under Tropical Storm Watch

The latest track of Elsa has her weakening and projected to stay in the Gulf Of Mexico just west of us. Cuba will take some of the punch away from the storm. After she crosses Cuba she’ll have little time to strengthen, however the intensity models range from tropical storm up to potentially a category 1 hurricane. By dawn tomorrow the models should be clearer as the storm is then projected to be over the Florida Keys where Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect. There’s now a Tropical Storm watch for Everglades City, Marco, and Naples.

Shout out to the guy I saw at the gas station in San Carlos Park filling 6 gas cans. You probably aren’t going to need it for this storm, but, it’s only July 4th and there’s a lot of hurricane season left ahead of us.
