The Biden Administration announced Student Loan payments will resume on February 1, 2022.
Once the COVID-19 forbearance ends, borrowers will receive a billing statement at least 21 days, or about three weeks, before the first payment is due, according to CBS News.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters more details about loan repayment will be made available in the coming weeks.
She said a smooth transition is a high priority.
Borrowers should ask their loan servicers what date their first payment after the pause ends is due.
