Take the Family to get some good food this weekend.
When you wake up on Saturday morning you are probably like me, wondering what you can do with your kids this weekend. Starting today and every Friday I will release Big on the Town, a portion of my blog to help parents find activities for the the family.
This weekend there are quite a few things you can do, and I will be there with you. On Saturday you don’t want to miss Food Truck Wars.
Over 30 trucks battled it out for a champion in multiple categories. I will be there hosting and judging starting at 11am. I am bringing my family so bring your family out to meet mine and then get ready for a day of excitement of food and fun. it starts at 11am at the German American Social Clunb in Cape Coral.
I went out over the past few weeks and scouted a few. Here I am trying them, but I can’t wait to try them all. Do you have a favorite food truck? If not you might by Saturday Night. The event goes till 6pm and has a lot to offer for the whole family. See you Saturday!!!!
On Sunday it’s The 20th Annual Gumbofest at the Shell Factory in North Fort Myers. It all goes down Sunday Feb 6th from 11am-6pm. It’s the Shell Factory’s Biggest Event of the Year! The Days Entertainment includes Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers-Straight from New Orleans and The Porchdogs-Spicey Accordion Driven Zydeco Music! A $5000 Reverse Raffle, plenty of food and fun. There is a zip line, a nature park and the biggest Christmas Store in Southwest Florida. This will be my third year in row being a part of it and I can’t wait to eat me some Gumbo. Get there early and avoid the lines.
Whenever I think of either of these events it give me a great memory. One time my wife Sara wanted to get a certain food truck we drove all over town three nights in row, we got there and the truck has just sold out. To this day I tell her that she to find that truck, maybe it will be there Saturday and it will make her day.
As for Gumbo Fest, the Shell Factory is one of my kids favorite places to go. We one time got to get up close and personal with a sloth. It was the first time I was every that close to them. I wasn’t able to take pictures that time, but maybe next time. Come out and see the amazing animals and more. Whether you go Sunday or not take the family to the Shell Factory.
Follow me on social media @bigmamaradio and see me at the event. Share you pics and make sure you come by and say hi. I look forward to see you there. I will post all my pics from these events, plus be LIVE there as well. Check back every Friday for another Big on the Town.
