Michelle Branch, Patrick Carney Reportedly Call Off Divorce
Michelle Branch and Patrick Carney are reportedly giving their marriage another shot.
Per Us Weekly, court documents obtained by the gossip outlet today (September 13) show the couple is attempting to reconcile. For the next six months, Branch and Carney will live together in their Nashville residence and will go through counseling.
This move is an about-face for the couple who made headlines a month ago for splitting after three years of marriage. In a since-deleted tweet, Branch shared, “Just found out my husband cheated on me with his manager Haley McDonald from Full Stop Management while I was home with our 6 month old daughter.”
Shortly after news of their split broke, we reported Branch was arrested on domestic violence charges for slapping Carney. Local Nashville police were called to the couple’s home for a “possible domestic disturbance” on August 11. In the documents on the incident obtained by TMZ, Branch said she slapped Carney “one to two times.” Carney didn’t have “any visible injuries.” Branch was arrested, and her bail was set at $1,000. The charges were dropped on August 25.
Branch said in a statement to People, “To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”
Throughout all of the headlines, Carney has yet to comment publicly on the split. When news initially broke about the couple, Branch’s fans came out in force on Twitter. Some of their reactions to Carney’s alleged infidelity can be viewed below. (Spoiler: They aren’t very fond of the Black Keys drummer.)
