Rollercoaster At Busch Gardens Wins Prestigious Award
If you’ve been to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, you know that there’s a lot of amazing rollercoasters, but one in particular won a prestigious award this week.
The Iron Gwazi rollercoaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has won the Best New Roller Coaster” Golden Ticket Award.
The awards ceremony, presented by Amusement Today, was held earlier this week and shines a spotlight on the amusement park industry and attractions. These awards are some of the most sought-after among theme parks, amusement parks, family entertainment centers and water parks.
There’s 23 categories voted on by industry journalists, park aficionados and ride suppliers that include Best New Family Attraction, Best New Roller Coaster, Best Water Ride, Best Guest Experience, Best Christmas Event, Best Kids’ Area, Best Innovation, Most Beautiful Park and Best Halloween Event just to name a few.
Iron Gwazi is North America’s tallest and the world’s fastest and steepest hybrid coaster. According to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the ride plunges guests from a 206-foot-talk peak, down a 91-degree drop and reaches top speeds of 76 mph, with over a dozen airtime moments and three inversions.
Other parks in Florida that won this year’s Golden Ticket Awards include SeaWorld Orlando: Best Wildlife/Marine Life Park, Best Halloween Event: Universal Orlando and Best New Attraction Installation of 2022: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, Orlando.
If you’re looking to visit the Best Amusement Park, you’ll have to get on a plane, as that award was given to Europa-Park in Rust, Germany.
