Taylor Swift’s Former Classmate Claims ‘Most People Hated Her’
There seems to be “bad blood” with Taylor Swift’s former Henderson High School peers. A former classmate of the Midnights artist claims that people hated her.
In a clip posted to TikTok last month (September 1), Jessica McLane (@jessicamclane) started off the video by saying, “So I went to the same high school as Taylor Swift, we grew up in the same town, and I haven’t seen any of the people going over conspiracy theories talk about this, which makes me think that people don’t know that this happened so I’ll tell you.”
Prior to getting into it about Taylor, McLane issued a “blanket apology for not knowing much about Taylor Swift” even though they attended the same high school. Growing up as a “church kid,” McLane didn’t start listening to Swift’s music until recently and adds the text: “I love u queen.”
Recalling 2006 when she was a freshman and Swift was a junior, “Teardrops On My Guitar” came out over the summer. “Obviously she got really big, and that’s the year she left school; she was homeschooled in 2006,” she said. “When she first started becoming super successful, is that most people hated her.” McLane said these were her peers and not “random people on the internet.”
The “Anti-Hero” singer chasing after a career at 16-17 had people “telling her she could never have” it. Additionally, the subject matter of her songs was written about the guys who were still going to Henderson High “and now they have a hit song about them talking about what a s—ty boyfriend they are.”
Rumors allegedly swirled around the school about how Swift “got her start in the first place” and the small school was filled with people who did not have “a lot of nice things to say about her.” Fast forward to 2009, McLane is a senior at Henderson and remembers her senior class was excited when they got invited by Swift to attend the CMA Awards that year. After noting the “random” invite, McLane then claims Swift’s Midnights release on Kim Kardashian’s birthday on October 21 made her a “petty bitch.” She then concluded that the 2009 CMAs invite was another petty act of Taylor’s, saying, “Y’all she invited us to the CMAs to say f— you… And we deserved it. So, to Taylor, touché. That was a good one.”
