Harry Styles Gets Squid Legs In ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant’ Video
Harry Styles is blowing minds with his wild new music video. Titled “Music For A Sushi Restaurant,” Styles takes things quite literally and turns himself into a squid-man. With squid tentacles for legs, the heavily bearded Harry’s House artist is found washed ashore.
Three men from Gil’s Lounge come to drag his body back to the restaurant to serve him up, but thanks to the power of his velvety singing voice, his life is spared and is made into a main attraction. Now, looking like the Harry that we are used to (short layered cut, clean shaven, feather boa), besides the squid legs, he is living the good life: eating fish any time he pleases, making the kitchen staff scrub his sea legs clean while he lazes around with a sleeping mask and green tea on demand as he gets a manicure. As it seems he is pushing the boundaries too far (rejecting the music, having some kind of lubricant put on his tentacles for a massage), he meets his delayed death when he chokes on stage. Perhaps from eating one fish too many. Nonetheless, the restaurant staff all play their parts in preparing the squid-man for sushi, even changing the restaurant’s name and sign to reflect a sushi restaurant.
The music video is both cute and creepy, which oddly seems to fit the theme for the end of October. The flashing lights, camera zoom-ins and bizarre concept are reminiscent of Daniel Radcliffe’s Swiss Army Man movie and Justin Long’s Tusk — two films that were both hilarious yet terrifying. Harry Styles achieved that same effect through a three-minute-long music video.
“Music For A Sushi Restaurant” is the opening song of his third studio album, Harry’s House. Watch the music video for it below:
