Is there a Dua Lipa and Rolling Stones collaboration in the works? There could very well be, as the “Sweetest Pie” singer posted a series of photos on Instagram over the weekend. The 27-year-old pop star posed with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, 79, cozying up on a couch in a studio on Saturday (November 26). She captioned the photos, which also included shots of her cat and a sunset: “Sweeeet weeeek” with a cherry emoji.
One fan commented, “MICK JAGGER???? Oh we’re getting HITS.” Another added, “R u kidding? Mick jagger? U can’t be stopped!” One person wrote, “Mick Jagger is one of the greatest front man of all time.” Neither musician has confirmed any new music together. Per The Sun, the Rolling Stones are set to release a new album in 2023. It will be their first since the death of their drummer Charlie Watts last year.
Last December, Jagger spoke to The Washington Post about his love of Instagram, saying, “I’m not just doing it to do Instagram pictures. I’m doing it to go out, because I don’t want to be stuck in a hotel room watching TV. But, I mean, it gives you a bit of a funny thing. Oh, that’ll make a good picture, that’s hilarious. I don’t publish them all. Some of them are just too weird. But you do see odd things and you meet people and you say hello.” Earlier this month Jagger posted a series of pictureque Italy, captioning the photos: “Relaxing in Italy, after some songwriting time!”
As for Lipa, the pop star is wrapping up her Future Nostalgia tour, which will end in Albania today to commemorate Independence Day. In a March conversation with Elton John, Lipa shared that her third studio album is in the works. “It’s starting to feel good,” she said, adding that the album was “50 percent done. It’s starting to take shape, I’m very excited about some of the new songs so it’s always exciting to look forward towards something.”
Yesterday, Dua was granted Albanian citezenship by President Bajram Begaj ahead of Albania’s 110th anniversary of independence from the Ottoman Empire. Begaj said he considered it an honor to do so because Lipa has made Albanians famous throughout the world. “It is an indescribable great joy with such acceptance, love and everything,” Lipa said.
