Someone in Florida Has A 1 Million Dollar Winning Mega Millions Ticket, The Jackpot Grows to $1.1 Billion

There it is, 1 billion. That’s when winning Mega Millions starts to get reeeeealy interesting. But winning a million is no joke, either. Imagine getting five of the numbers right and not the gold Mega Millions ball. That’s what happened last night to someone near Tampa.

Per WFLA, “According to the Florida Lottery, a winning $1 million ticket that matched five of the winning numbers was sold at the RaceTrac at 16640 US Highway 19 North in Hudson.”

Hudson is on the western end of Pasco County, near Tampa. That RaceTrac is just south of Hernando Beach. I know the area.

Last night’s winning numbers were 3, 20, 46, 59, and 63 and the gold Mega Ball was 13. Unlucky 13 made the difference between 1 million and 940 million for whomever has that ticket. So we play on.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot now sits at One Billion, One Hundred Million Dollars. Or, 1.1 billy. It’s even got some of us wondering what we’ll do with all that money. This is now the third biggest Mega Millions jackpot in history. Someone in Illinois won $1.337 billion last July. The biggest Mega Millions was in 2018 when someone in South Carolina won $1.537 billion.

It’s about to get interesting on Tuesday night.

Which Mega Millions Numbers Are Drawn The Most

It’s January and the Mega Millions jackpot has now surpassed a billion dollars. Clearly, there’s two different ways to play the numbers. You can let the computer pick for you, or you can get that card and pick them yourself. If you’re the latter, what system do you choose? Kids birthdays, anniversaries, and dates like that are common. I use math. Before we continue, in full disclosure, I’ve picked numbers using this system and have not won anything. I only play when the jackpot gets big and using this system I got nothing right on the 7/26/2022 drawing. But what if?

Here are the 10 Most Drawn numbers and Mega Balls Based on 541 drawings since Tuesday, October 31, 2017 as of this data on January 4th, 2022. So when I say a number has come up “46 times”, it means since 10/31/2017.

We’ll also look at which Mega Ball pops up the most. Gotta get both right if you’re going to win that money. I’m not saying these will be the numbers that will make you win. Just saying, these numbers tend to come up more. #science

Highest on the list is the number 14 has been drawn 52 times in this time frame and 5 times since July 22nd. It’s been hot, but will it stay hot? It last showed up on December 13th.

Statistically, the number 51. It’s only shown up 25 times in the date range, although it did show up 5 times since July 5th, 2022. Lastly on December 30th.

Mega Balls 7 and 8 are at the bottom of their appearance list at 16. That’s half as many times as MB22. But get this. MB8 showed up on December 23rd, and MB7 on December 30th.
