Karen Dowling of Port Charlotte Won A Million Dollars On A Florida Lottery Scratch Off

Karen Dowling of Port Charlotte claimed a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00. She bought her winning ticket from the Publix at 24051 Peachland Boulevard in Port Charlotte. Fin Sushi is in the same plaza. Solid spot for sushi.

In case you were wondering, yep, that’s the $50 scratch off ticket.

Good on Karen Dowling for the win, but I just can’t bring myself to spend $50 on a single scratch off ticket.

It would hurt too much if I got nothing in return. Only on a rare occasion will I get a $20 ticket. But I have no problem quickly wasting $100 in the Wheel of Fortune slot machine at the casino in Immokalee. Weird, huh?

There are so many options when it comes to dining out in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda .  No matter what it is you might have a hankering for, you’ll find it in Southwest Florida.  We’re a foodies dream, in a smaller town.  What more could we ask for?

So, with the new year upon us (so crazy it’s 2023 already), we wanted to know, where are the best places in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda for a delicious meal?
