Immokalee Casino Thief Learns the Hard Way That Crime Doesn’t Pay

A recent robbery serves as a cautionary tale for all casino-goers, as one enterprising thief managed to take advantage of a drunk gambler sleeping off his hangover outside the casino’s entrance.

According to NBC2, Jose Rolando Domingo Morales, a 61-year-old man, saw his opportunity and pounced without hesitation. He reached into the man’s pocket and stole his wallet, which contained several hundred dollars.

But Morales wasn’t exactly subtle about his crime. The victim’s wallet was found in nearby bushes, a clear indication that foul play was involved. The casino’s security team, who were monitoring the area via surveillance cameras, quickly apprehended Morales.

When confronted, Morales didn’t even try to deny his actions. He simply presented the handful of cash he had taken from his victim.

According to investigators, Morales and the victim had previously worked together. This may have made the victim seem like an easy target to Morales. However, his brazen theft was not enough to outsmart the law. He was arrested and charged with robbery, and taken to the Immokalee Jail for processing.

The incident serves as a reminder to all casino-goers to be cautious and keep a close eye on their belongings. While the thrill of gambling can be enticing, it’s important to remember that opportunistic thieves like Morales are always on the lookout for an easy target.
