Bed, Bath, and Beyond has been closed in the Coconut Point Mall in Estero for quite awhile now, but another store may be facing a similar fate. Christmas Tree Shops, which was once owned by Bed, Bath, and Beyond, may be struggling as well. According to Fox Business, "A bankruptcy filing may reportedly soon come from Christmas Tree Shops. The earliest that lawyers for the home-goods retailer, which now goes by CTS, might do so is before the start of next week, according to the Wall Street Journal. The outlet cited anonymous sources on Thursday."
Privately owned Christmas Tree Shops has 80 stores across 20 states. That's including the store in Coconut Point Mall is Estero as well as one in Sarasota. CTS just opened last year in the Coconut Point Mall. It's in the spot where Bed, Bath, and Beyond once operated, in the area near Total Wine. According to the CTS website:
Celebrate both special occasions and everyday living at a great value! Whether you’re looking for the best deals on seasonal decorations, home decor, furniture, patio, outdoor living, gifts, food or party goods…you’ll discover aisles full of fab finds at our everyday low prices.
Nothing's confirmed, this is from a Wall Street Journal report. I like the Christmas Tree Shops store. It's a fantastic place to go to get holiday decorating ideas. So here's to hoping that the WSJ report doesn't come true.
Businesses That Have Reopened On Sanibel And Captiva Since Hurricane Ian
When Hurricane Ian hit SWFL Florida in September, Sanibel and Captiva were absolutely devastated, but businesses are starting to reopen on the islands.
I love being able to support local businesses and I think now more than ever they need our help. It's so sad to see what the storm did to our islands. While it'll take a long time for things to look like they did pre-Ian, I love to see businesses starting to get back on their feet. We live in paradise, so whatever we can do to support our local economy is important.
I've been spending my weekends either at Fort Myers Beach or Sanibel and it makes me so happy to see so many people out enjoying the beach. Almost like nothing ever happened. Also great to see some new things have opened or relocated and even some make-shift bars and ice cream stands (on Fort Myers Beach) set up.
If you want to go out to the islands, whether it's for a staycation, a beach day, or to grab a bite to eat, you have options! SanCap Chamber put together a list of the businesses that have reopened on Sanibel and Captiva.
