When you think of Florida, you might think of beaches and swimming pools, but not lakes, right?

Being from Florida myself, I was honestly shocked to see Florida make this list of the best lake towns in the country.

The crew over at Travel + Leisure recently released a list of best lake towns in the US.   And, they didn’t just consider things to do on the lake when putting the list together.  They also considered destinations with great restaurants, accommodations, shopping and activities that don’t involve the water.

So, if you’re looking for something fun to do this summer and don’t want to go too far from home, you might want to consider Clermont, located just outside of Orlando, on Lake Minneola.

With it’s close proximity to some of the country’s most popular amusement parks, you can be nearby and don’t have to be part of the hustle and bustle of the park hotels.  You’ll have plenty of dining options without the crowds on City Walk or at Disney Springs.  And, it won’t put such a huge dent in your wallet either.
