Florida Mourns The Loss of the Iconic Grimace Shake
Oh, the heartbreak! Picture this: I, pull up to a McDonald’s drive-thru in Fort Myers, ready for another taste of the Iconic Grimace Shake. I roll down my window to place my order, and what do I hear? The dreaded words that sent shivers down my spine: “I’m sorry, sir, but the Grimace Shake is no longer available.” Sure. Now that we are all addicted. Awesome.
It all started when McDonald’s decided to pay homage to Grimace, one of their beloved characters, with a purple-tinted milkshake. They called it the “Grimace Birthday Shake.” Now, I don’t know about you, but when I think of nostalgia and childhood parties, a purple milkshake is not the first thing that comes to mind. But soon we were hooked.
To make things even more exciting, they offered the “Grimace Birthday Meal” alongside this purple concoction. You’d get to choose between a Big Mac or some Chicken McNuggets, a medium French fry, and of course, the unique purple shake.
Now, before you get too excited and sprint to your nearest golden arches to see if was because the shake machine was just down, let me give you the sad news. According to Comicbook.com, McDonald’s seemed to bid farewell to the shake and the birthday meal in a mysterious tweet supposedly written by Grimace himself.

Now, for those of you who missed the purple party, fear not! There’s a glimmer of hope. Since this whole shake saga was about celebrating Grimace’s birthday, there’s a chance it might make a comeback next year. Yeah, you heard me right! You might get the chance to drink a purple milkshake and contemplate your own existence once again. Exciting, isn’t it?
Neither McDonald’s nor Grimace himself have spilled the beans on that possibility just yet. So, we’ll all have to play the waiting game. In the meantime, we can always look back on all the fond memories we have of our favorite purple elixir of doom.
