Naples Man’s Strip-Tease Steals the Spotlight In Police Chase
Here in Florida, you never know what you might see on a Friday night and one Naples man’s strip-tease stole the spotlight in a police chase.
When you think of 5th Avenue in Naples, you may think of restaurants like Osteria Tulia, Sails, Aqua or Del Mar. You see fancy cars like Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maserati’s and Porsches. Ladies and gentleman both dressed to the nine’s in designers like Chanel, Gucci, Balenciaga or Yves Saint Laurent. But what you DON’T expect to see is a naked man.
Well, that is exactly what stole the spotlight Friday night. NBC2 reports that 68 year-old Steven Grant Campbell decided that clothes were just too much for him and proceeded to not only strip himself of clothing, but lead police on quite the chase. He started slowly by removing his sneakers. Then the rest of his clothes, throwing them into Naples Bay. When officers witnessed him do this, they encouraged him to stop. But did he listen? Oh no, he ran over to Bistro 821 and took a seat, making himself quite comfortable.
You think the story ended there?
Then you’d be wrong. According to a witness, Campbell went right in the middle of traffic at 5th Avenue South and 11th Street South and showed off his goods to passerby’s. Florida man strikes again!
It sounds like this naked man’s strip-tease through downtown Naples came to an end shortly after. Campbell was arrested and is facing charges of disorderly conduct, resisting an officer and littering.
