Taylor Swift Discusses Travis Kelce Relationship Timeline

Taylor Swift was named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year” for a number of reasons. But one aspect of her career that people seem fascinated with is her and Travis Kelce’s relationship (and the relationship’s timeline). The musical sensation and the NFL star successfully kept the early days of their romance under the radar. The “You Belong With Me” singer, 33, tells the publication that her relationship with Travis, 34, began when he “adorably” called her out on his podcast. More specifically, Swift thought Travis shooting his shot like that “was metal as hell.”
It’s a Love Story
Right after that, “Swelce” started hanging out. Swift admits in the December 6 feature that the pair “actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.” By the time the rest of us saw Swift in the stands cheering on Travis in September, “We were a couple,” she said. Adding to the perception that people thought their first date was at that game, Swift said they would “never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date” like that. Swifties and football fans alike saw Swift in Kelce’s suite during that September 24 game, hanging out with Kelce’s mother, Donna. As we’ve reported on several occasions, Swift has been to many of Travis’ games since, even bringing some of her celebrity friends to some.
Of the crazy coverage of her at the games, Swift addressed the media documenting her every move. Clueless as to how the cameras know what suite she’s in from a half-mile away, she says, “You have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.” She is sensitive to the attention that’s put on her when she shows up to Kelce’s games. “I’m just there to support Travis,” she says. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.” She playfully adds that “Football is awesome, it turns out. I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
