Fantasy Becomes Reality At Tampa Bay Comic Con
Cosplayers and fans of all things sci-fi, fantasy and anime took over the Tampa Bay Convention Center the weekend of August 23rd for Tampa Bay Comic Con. We sent Booger from The WiLD Bunch along with his friend Pinkie to check it out and here’s a recap of their experience.
Fantasy Becomes Reality At Tampa Bay Comic Con
I was so excited to go to my first comic con and brought my friend and Twitch streamer Pinkie to join me. Leading up to it, we knew our outfits were very important. We had some Halloween costumes laying around, but didn’t think we could do cosplay right, so we ended up dressing casual and let the spotlight shine on the super fans at the con.
From playing Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus on a tablet moments before going to the convention center to standing next to a nine foot tall character from the game, we instantly felt immersion between fantasy and reality.
People have journeyed far and wide to visit an amazing wholesome family fun event known as the Tampa Bay Comic Con. Filled with colorful venders and art, there is so many things to do and see in this convention! Some people go on a quest to create the best cosplay they can, bringing characters to life from their favorite comics, shows, and movies, adding to the sea of colorful people throughout this event.
There also were many photo ops like with Appa the sky bison from Avatar: The Last Airbender. And to my surprise, Blockbuster was there as a pop-up store for a retro experience. It’s a good thing I still have my membership card! We also loved seeing all the artists from one who made adorable cat paintings in theme with comics, and another artist who carved their art into layers of wood.
And we can’t leave out all the celebrities that were there like Hayden Christensen, Elijah Wood and Tom Welling just to name a few.
Don’t forget to check Booger and Pinkie online.
