I’m always surprised at how many people who live here rarely, if ever, go to the beach. I was talking to a friend the other day who told me she hasn’t been down to Fort Myers Beach since the hurricane and that was almost 2 years ago! I was invited to spend a weekend at Diamondhead Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach. The rooms are clean and spacious, light and bright, with a huge balcony to sit out and enjoy the view of the beach. Smelling the salt air and feeling that breeze off the Gulf was so nice, I didn’t want to leave.
To spend the day, I took full advantage of the pool and the variety of frozen cocktails from Cabañas Beach Bar + Grille.
They also have chairs with umbrellas in the sand along with cornhole boards, plus bike rentals are available for rent along with chairs and umbrellas right next to the water.
