Sabrina Carpenter and Christina Aguilera teased a new collaboration on TikTok, sparking excitement among fans. In the short clip Aguilera posted, Carpenter used an audio clip from “The Kardashians” to refer to Aguilera as her “mom,” saying she’s “obsessed” with her.

“I’m obsessed with my mom,” Carpenter lip-synced, mirroring Kylie Jenner’s words about her own mother, Kris. The audio continues, “I am her favorite. We actually have a relationship like she has no other kids.”

Fans quickly took to the comments. One wrote, “WE NEED A BURLESQUE SEQUEL WITH THESE TWO,” while another shared, “Watching baby Brina’s dream come true is my fav genre.” Someone else commented, “Omg I LOVE YOU TWO!!!!! The duo we didn’t know we needed.” One person even joked, “Espresso in a bottle,” referencing their hit songs “Espresso” and “Genie in a Bottle.”

Carpenter later reposted the video to her Instagram Stories with the caption: “I don’t think you understand, I’m obsessed.” The singer will be joining Aguilera as she celebrates the 25th anniversary of her debut album with a special episode.

The episode, which will feature an appearance from MGK, is set for release on Sept. 25. Aguilera’s self-titled debut studio album, released in August 1999, includes hits like “Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants,” “I Turn to You,” and “Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You).”

“I wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my debut album in a way that brings together the past and present,” Aguilera told Rolling Stone. “I’ve always enjoyed reimagining my songs with different styles and audiences, as well as playing with sounds and arrangements that showcase how all music can be timeless.”

In an interview with Paper Magazine in August, Carpenter shared how much Aguilera has influenced her, calling her “one of my first idols and icons.”

“I was 11 years old, and you couldn’t get her name out of my mouth,” she said. “She’s very special to me. Those songs raised me.”

Britney Spears, who had a years-long feud with Aguilera, commented on Carpenter’s MTV VMAs performance, where she kissed an alien backup dancer on stage.

“I didn’t understand that part,” said Spears, who famously kissed Madonna at the 2003 VMAs. “Why didn’t she kiss a girl? That was weird.”

However, Spears also added that she “adores” Sabrina Carpenter and loves her “to death” in the now-deleted Instagram video.
