Another lucky Florida lottery player hit it big at a Naples Publix. The store on Tamiami Trail East sold a $1 million winning ticket in Monday's February 24 drawing - the third big win at Florida Publix stores this month, according to Naples Daily News.
The ticket matched five numbers exactly but missed the Powerball. Previous wins came from stores in Spring Hill and Port St. Lucie, making February an especially lucky month for Florida lottery players.
Monday's winning numbers were 10-11-34-59-68, with 14 as the red Powerball. Since no one won the jackpot, the prize money moves on to the next drawing.
Wondering about your chances of winning big? The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 11,688,053.52. Winners need to claim their prize within 180 days at any state lottery office.
Unlike some states, Florida makes winners' names public. The state does give a 90-day break from publicity for those who win more than $250,000.
Each February winner picked different number combinations. The month kicked off with 23-29-32-49-61 and Powerball 8, while mid-month saw 6-21-28-49-60 with Powerball 20 hit the jackpot.
Florida holds Powerball drawings three times a week. Players can now use a state app that creates digital tickets and checks numbers right away.
For the major wins - those over $1 million - you'll have to go to Tallahassee's Lottery HQ. Anyone lucky enough to win the jackpot gets to choose: yearly payments over 29 years or one big lump sum right now.
