Lutheran Services of Florida just opened Bridge and Beyond, giving teenagers a new shot at stability in San Carlos Park.

Inside this warm space, kids get more than just a roof over their heads. A beautiful garden sits outside, while a modern computer lab and comfortable hangout areas make it feel like home. When new kids arrive, they get special welcome packages with comfort items, basic supplies, and some treats.

"We say it takes a village to raise a kid and to care for a kid. This will still be their village. This village will always be here,” Michelle Scott, Program Director, told Gulf Coast News.

This home fills a big need, especially for teens who have had trouble finding places to stay. Mike Carroll, the Chief Operating Officer, says they're ready to take in young people that other places might turn away.

The community jumped in to help right away. FK Your Diet donated bathroom supplies, while local groups help out with school stuff and everyday needs.

San Carlos Park never had a foster home just for teens until now. Kids are already on a waiting list as Bridge and Beyond opens.
