Colon cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, yet it is also one of the most preventable. ​

According to the American Cancer Society, regular screenings can help detect precancerous polyps early—when treatment is most effective. ​

It’s recommended that adults begin regular screenings at age 45, or earlier for those with a family history of the disease. ​

When caught early, the 5-year survival rate for colon cancer is about 90%.
