BIG MAMA – “THE TRUTH”
Big Mama was born in Dayton, Ohio, and never lived too long in one place again. By the time he was twelve he had lived in over twenty different cities. Big Mama’s Step Father was a country radio personality named Jerry Paxson. It was during this time that Big Mama got the taste of radio. He knew after being backstage at one of the biggest country concerts in the world that he was meant to be in radio.
But at twelve, life changed for Big and he moved into his birth father’s house and began to participate in a variety of different activities. From football and wrestling to chess club and student council, Big found a love for another side of life.
At eighteen, he joined the US Army as an Airborne Infantryman and served two years in Alaska. After his service, Big began working many jobs first as a factory worker, then a frozen food manger and ending up as a manager for health clubs. But after two exhausting years of that business it was time for a change.
In 1995, Big walked into a Top 40 radio station in his hometown and asked for a job. After a 7 month free internship, Big got his big break, Midnight shift on a Saturday night. He was able to secure that air shift after selling five dozen of the station’s hats in twenty four hours.
From there his career took off. It landed him in places like Phoenix, Albuquerque, Tampa, Memphis, Philadelphia, Fresno, Spokane, and Minneapolis. Most recently his career solidified here in Southwest Florida. Big holds down the Morning Show for WXKB B1039 and has done so since early 2008. Big and his crew ‘The WiLD Bunch’ have scored the highest ratings in station history and won countless awards including The Best Morning Drive team ten years running in the News-Press best of the Southwest. He gained national attention numerous times including the inking of his ‘Dunk City” tattoo.
Big Mama loves to fish, is involved in many charities including Boys and Girls Club of Lee County and Making Strides against Breast Cancer.
Big currently resides in North Fort Myers with his wife Sara and his 2 kids Bella and Finnegan.
BUDMAN – “THE GEEK”
Jason Paige, also known as Budman, has lent his voice talent of celebrity impressions to countless radio stations across the country. When he’s not on the radio he loves collecting coming books, going to Karaoke nights, and spending time with his greatest achievement, his 7 year old daughter. They spend more of their times playing video games, watching movies and taking the family dogs to the park.
LIL BROWNIE – “THE PEANUT GALLERY”
Lil Brownie is a proud Latina from Dallas, Texas where she did radio for 11 years. Dallas is her hometown and where she spent most of her career, her bubbly personality and charismatic attitude was seen every week on a very popular tv show in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area called DMX TV. While co-hosting the tv show she was then introduced into the wonderful world of radio at Casa 106.7 where she held down the night show as a co-host and has loved radio ever since. Having grown up listening to all genres of music she got the opportunity of a lifetime and was offered a job at K104. She has worked every position from on-air to street team and a morning show producer. Then she got her own midday show on Hot 93.3 and then transitioned to the night show 7pm-11pm. She recently took a leap of faith and made the move to Fort Myers Florida and you can hear her every morning with Big Mama and the Wild Bunch 6am-10am. Radio is her passion, she also loves giving back to the community and being a positive role model. People can relate to her because she is the girl next door, really goofy, and the life of the party! She loves her life and genuinely enjoys waking up every morning and getting to work with such amazing people.
MIKE CHIONOPOULOS
As a former judge, Mike. Chionopoulos is an experienced litigator with significant experience doing jury trials, non-jury trials and appeals. While he practiced in most civil areas, his particular expertise lies in civil litigation, foreclosure defense and family law (including divorce, paternity, custody and child support). Currently, Mr. Chionopoulos engages in a general civil practice, while focusing the majority of his work in family law and appeals.
MICHAEL TUCKER – “THE MARRIED GUY”
Michael Anthony Tucker is a former Major League Baseball outfielder and first baseman. Tucker played with the Kansas City Royals, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets. He batted left-handed and threw right-handed.
BOOKIE – “THE GAY MAN”
John Tucker is a part time show member who has worked with Big Mama for over 10 years. He started with him at another station and was one of the first people on the show back in 2008.
