Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day. 39% of Americans believe wearing green will increase their chances of meeting someone special tomorrow. According to the Census Bureau, 36 million U.S. residents claim Irish ancestry. This number is almost nine times the population of Ireland itself (3.9 million).

A survey by the Guinness Storehouse, Ireland’s top tourist destination, reveals that 70% of people believe everyone is a little Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. Other findings:
– 25% of people believe a four leaf clover is good luck
– 21% of people have found a “new love” on St. Patrick’s Day

A survey by Alcohol Monitoring Systems reveals that 13 million pints of Guinness beer will be downed on St. Patrick’s Day. Other findings:
– 50% of people will drink beer on St. Paddy’s Day.
– 19% of people will drink hard liquor on St. Paddy’s Day.
– St. Paddy’s Day is the fourth most popular drinking day of the year behind New Year’s, Christmas and 4th of July.
– 51% of people plan to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day.
