Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson Were Secretly Engaged

The complicated love story between exes Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson continues. On the latest episode of The Kardashians, Khloe and her sister, Kim Kardashian, talk about Tristan's secret marriage proposal. During the episode, it is revealed that Thompson initially proposed in December of 2020, which Khloe says she turned down at the time.

"I said, 'I need to make sure this is a totally different relationship because I want to be proud to say I'm engaged to anyone,'" Khloe says to Kim in the second episode. "And that's why I said, 'I'm not comfortable accepting this right now because I'm not excited to tell my family.' And as hurtful as that probably was for him to hear, it was the truth. I'm not ever going to accept something and give someone false hope. And I said that to him."

A source confirmed to ET that Khloe actually accepted a second proposal from Tristan in February 2021 and that the two were engaged. This means that they were engaged in March 2021 when Khloe threw the NBA player a 30th birthday party, in which was the very party that Tristan allegedly left and hooked up with Maralee Nichols. Khloe found out with the rest of the world in December 2021, one week after she had an embryo transfer to have a second child with him herself. Khloe and Tristan welcomed their son via surrogate on July 28. On the premiere of The Kardashians, Khloe admitted to feeling "bamboozled" by Tristan after he "encouraged" her to do the embryo transfer by a certain date, knowing his paternity news would be coming out. The former couple also share baby True, 4. Tristan also has a son named Princec, 5, from his previous relationship with Jordain Craig.

Ever since news broke of Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson having another child together, social media was quick to share their opinion of Khloe expanding her family with a known cheater.

Per gossip website TMZ, “Multiple sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, the baby will be born via surrogate. We’re told the birth is imminent, within days. Another source says the baby may already have been born in the last day or so.”

Tristan's cheating was covered on The Kardashians, with Khloe taking to Twitter to address the episode that showed Tristan Thompson had cheated on her once again. Khloe, 37, wrote, “This was definitely a tough episode but there’s so much beauty in watching how close my family is. We we’ll always stick together and love one another deeply,” adding a heart emoji.
