Is Jennifer Garner’s Boyfriend John Miller Jealous of Ben Affleck?
After separating from Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck seems to be in constant company now of another Jennifer: his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. However, Garner’s boyfriend, John Miller, seems to have an issue with Affleck being a constant presence in Garner’s life.
A Timeline of Jennifer Garner’s Relationship
Jennifer Garner was once married to her co-star Scott Foley. They met on the set of Felicity in 1998, married on October 19, 2000, and separated in March 2003. She then dated her Alias co-star Michael Vartan from August 2003 until the middle of 2004.
She began dating Ben Affleck in August 2004 and got married on June 29, 2005. In June 2015, they announced their intention to divorce, which was finalized in October 2018. The ex-couple share physical and legal custody of their three children. From mid-2018 to early 2020, she was in a relationship with John Miller, the CEO of PopID, a portfolio company. After breaking up for a year, they resumed their relationship in 2021 until the present.
Affleck’s Constant Presence
A source tells Life & Style that Miller has an issue with Affleck’s constant presence in Garner’s life. “John has shown the patience of an absolute saint, he’s been so supportive and understanding of Jen’s situation with Ben. But at this point, even he’s hit the wall. Ben’s constant presence is very hard to take, John’s like the third wheel in his own relationship.”
According to She Knows, Affleck is always reaching out to Garner, and she always answers. The New York Post also reported about the exes’ Thanksgiving outing, which seemed to raise a few questions since the actor, who is currently amid a divorce proceeding with Jennifer Lopez, “was spotted cozying up” to Garner while volunteering.
It seems Miller is not the only one bugged by the exes’ apparent closeness. An insider told In Touch Weekly, “Even when he was married to J. Lo he’d go to Jen for her advice, which, as you can imagine, did not do his marriage any favors. But now he’s single again and free to talk to her 10 times a day if he wants, and there are days he does.”

However, a source told People that Affleck’s constant presence in Garner’s life is just for the kids, “Jen and Ben were all together for Christmas. It’s all for the kids. Jen grew up surrounded by her family for the holidays, and she wants the same for her kids.” A source also told People in 2024 that Garner is “very happy” with Miller.
