A massive 160,000-gallon wave pool is coming to Sun Splash Family Waterpark in early summer 2025. The $4 million Paradise Cove addition will be built between the speed slides and catering area.

"We are making great progress on the construction of Paradise Cove Wave Pool and are well on target for an opening in early Summer... Paradise Cove Wave Pool, will be a game-changing attraction for SunSplash, offering our guests new and exciting ways to cool and make memories," said Ron McKenzie, Chief Marketing Officer, to the News-Press.

Workers will begin installing rebar soon, followed by concrete work. Guests can expect waves that change patterns, a gradual beach-style entry, and water reaching a maximum depth of five feet.

The new addition brings more than just water activities. A massive screen - 16 feet by 9 feet - will overlook 300 new lounge chairs and private cabanas. New bathrooms and food stands will help handle the increased visitor traffic.

ProParks Attractions Group runs the park with safety as their main priority. Workers undergo extensive training to monitor swimmers, helping the 14-acre park earn top ratings from Starfish Aquatics Institute.

The park opens for 2025 on March 8. Spring break hours begin March 14, then the park operates on weekends until Memorial Day.

Adventure seekers flock to Cape Fear - a dark slide featuring 215 feet of pitch-black turns dropping from a 30-foot platform. Those looking to relax can float along in the lazy river.

The park sits at 400 Santa Barbara Boulevard, operating from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM most days. Tickets run $15 for kids (2-12) and seniors (60+), while adults pay $17. Out-of-towners pay an extra $3.

Keep an eye out for special events like Saturday Night Slide, offering discounted rates and illuminated water features.
