2025 is off to a good start with a lot of great shows to watch on TV and one that I loved most recently is Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix.

I love me a good con-woman. Not in the sense that I want to be one or even have a real life encounter with one, but give me a good show to watch that shows her in all of her scamming glory. That's right up my alley. And if you're looking for a show that tells a wild tale of the ultimate con-woman, you have to check out Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix.

Binge Or Bounce: Apple Cider Vinegar On Netflix

Apple Cider Vinegar is a 6-part series that is a true(ish) story based on a lie. The series is about an Australian influencer named Belle Gibson who falsely claimed she had terminal brain cancer and that it was cured by diet and alternative therapies. She rose to fame on social media and also with a book, The Whole Pantry, and a very popular app and her lies were eventually exposed by some investigative journalists after getting a tip from her former manager.

This series was 100% bingeable. I watched the whole thing over the course of two nights and every episode ended with me wanting to watch another because I had to see what happened next. It's so crazy to me that this woman got away with what she did for so long. And not only did she fake cancer, which is wrong on so many levels, but stealing money from people as well under the pretense that it was going to charity.

The other thing I liked about this show is that it really showed, with social media, the world we live in now. How some people will do anything for "likes", even when it's untrue, or in this case, even dangerous. And how addicting that gratification really can be. Another good takeaway is to be careful who you're taking advice from online where people can say anything they want, even if it's untrue. We also see the competitive world of influencers with another character, who is huge part of the (fictionalized part of the) story named Milla Blake who was actually diagnosed with cancer and documenting her healing journey online as well.
