A new Student and Community Health Center opened at Franklin Park Elementary, marking a first for Lee County. The center serves as the county's first Community Partnership School, bringing key services to both students and community members.
United Way teamed up with Fort Myers emergency services and Lee Health to make this happen. They focus on after-school activities, health care, community engagement, and collaborative planning centered on students.
Kids get more learning options during summer break. Two locations, the Early Childhood Learning Center and G. Weaver Hipps, will run Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) from June through July this summer.
Summer classes blend fun with core learning. Kids play while learning numbers and letters from teachers who know how to make lessons engaging.
To enroll, families need to apply for a VPK Voucher online or in person with an appointment from the Early Learning Coalition 2675 Winkler Ave. in Fort Myers. Once all the paperwork is ready, families then need to visit the Early Learning Childhood Center at 3650 Michigan Ave. in Fort Myers with their documents.
