It’s considered to be the last weekend of the summer. In addition, it’s three days for most Americans. If you plan on relaxing around the pool, beach, or your back yard, I have a few ideas to keep you hydrated. Here are three new cocktails for Labor Day lounging in Southwest Florida.

The cocktail above features Malfy Gin from Italy. The producer has several different flavors that are near perfect for Southwest Florida. There is a recipe with this summery spirit below. Gins are full of botanicals that can be complimented by the  many flavors of summer fruits and fresh herbs. This one, with it’s grapefruit emphasis, can also be use in a margarita for a twist.

Speaking of Margarita’s, if you like these citrusy cocktails, or tequila I’ve got a few more ideas to share. Click here for some great recipes featuring the famous agave spirit, including a Margarita.

In addition to these adult beverages, I’ve included a delicious sounding mocktail. Mocktails are cocktails, just sans the alcohol. They are getting more and more attention these days as people are cutting back or cutting out distilled spirits from their diet. In addition, they are good for your designated driver. Sometimes all one needs is to hold a drink that resembles a cocktail to feel comfortable in some social settings. Even better, if you make up a batch of great mocktails, those guests who DO want to imbibe can always add their favorite spirit. It’s a win for everyone.

Enjoy trying out these three new cocktails for Labor Day lounging in Southwest Florida or where ever you may be. And remember to drink responsibly.
